data-mm-id=”_suwmdrydq”>At some point when you reach a certain age, the shackles of being politically correct are cast aside and you feel free to say whatever you want. Your retirement secure, your desire to be liked by everyone erased, there is no longer a burden of living up to expectations. Thus, you're more honest and open and likely to reveal an interesting fact about yourself long hidden in the annals of your brain. It appears legendary NFL reporter Peter King has reached that point of his life. While replying to a random question from a follower about marijuana and how much he consumed before writing NFL Predictions for NBC Sports, King replied that he did indeed once smoke a doobie with the Doobie Brothers in Ohio. Well, I once did a doobie with the Doobie Brothers after a …

data-mm-id=”_46i1pcx4d”>LeBron James was a precursor to our nation's irreparable discourse. Even before elected leaders truly embraced a nihilistic, choose-your-own-reality approach to power and governing, sport's central figure was serving as the prototype for maddening, head-spinning, and ultimately distressing conversation. We've all known what James was going to be since he was in high school. An adonis touched by god with unlimited Basketball IQ. He is many things. Mysterious is not one of them. James is an open book. He is accessible. A Steven Spielberg-type protagonist. What you see is what you get. The greatness is so overpowering that it refracts every ray of light before reaching our eyes, creating a kaleidoscope of color that dazzles the mind and makes rods an…
data-mm-id=”_hv01etnad”>Tom Brady did it again. He won his seventh Super Bowl Sunday night, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers dominated the Kansas City Chiefs 31-9. The Bucs snuffed out Patrick Mahomes' magic and Brady led his offense up and down the field all night. In raising the Lombardi Trophy for the seventh time, Brady didn't just beat the Chiefs, he also scored a big win over former head coach Bill Belichick. When a then 42-year-old Brady walked away from the New England Patriots last offseason, everyone around the NFL debated who would win the breakup. Well, Brady won the Super Bowl, and his fifth Super Bowl MVP trophy and the Patriots went 7-9 and looked like an organization adrift. So, yeah, gotta give this one to Tom. For several years, the Patriots failed to get Brady th…
data-mm-id=”_keh86dvxy”>Peter Seidler has done it again. On Sunday, news broke that Seidler's San Diego Padres had agreed to yet another massive, long-term deal with a star player. This time, they stayed in-house, retaining perennial MVP candidate Manny Machado on an 11-year, $350 million contract. He'll spend the rest of his career in brown and gold. Just a week ago, experts were speculating on where Machado would end up after opting out of his current deal following the 2023 season. Seidler, and those around the Padres, all knew there was zero chance the star third baseman was going anywhere. It's time to stop doubting Seidler and the Padres. They have the money and are willing to spend it to win a championship.San Diego shocked MLB when they signed Machado to a 10-yea…
data-mm-id=”_cbm0dc9qn”>No team in Major League Baseball has won more games this year than the Baltimore Orioles, who currently enjoy a three-game lead in the uber-tough American League East. The fanbase, which has suffered through tough times for many years, is understandably ecstatic about the development and the implication that a stable of young talent could mean they compete for years to come. There are healthy ways to channel this excitement and then there is what this fan did over the weekend, which is both profoundly stupid and was ultimately met with great karmic justice. Running out onto the field is always a bad idea, no matter how encouraging voices struggling to get through puberty suggest otherwise. And if you're going to do it, at least get your money's worth. …
data-mm-id=”_mdr1hbqxf”>The Pittsburgh Steelers got screwed out of three points on Sunday by an incredibly rare penalty. Officials wiped off a 55-yard field goal by Chris Boswell because Steelers offensive lineman Isaac Seumalo allegedly lined up offside. During and after the game, head coach Mike Tomlin was incensed officials made the call. The play came with six second remaining in the first half as the Steelers faced third-and-10 at Jacksonville's 38-yard line. Boswell trotted out to attempt the long kick but it was nullified by the flag on Seumalo. That pushed him back to a 61-yard kick that he missed wide right. Instead of trailing 9-6 at halftime, the Steelers were down 9-3. Here's a view of Seumalo being "offsides":I’d love to know how she called this offsi…
data-mm-id=”_7aqmjjp06″>Michigan has been in control for most of its College Football Playoff semifinal game against Alabama, and the Wolverines have gotten help from a few missed calls. The first was an obvious running into the punter call that officials somehow didn't see, the other was a blatant kick that should have resulted in a personal foul, or even an ejection. On the play in question, Michigan's Caden Kolesar was ridden to the ground by Alabama linebacker Jeremiah Alexander. After he was on the turf, Kolesar kicked up at Alexander. Not cool.Video below:pic.twitter.com/mXT69ylcdP— FOLLOW @_MLFootball (@MlVideos27) January 2, 2024Yeah you can't do that. It's a dirty play and should have resulted in a 15-yard penalty or worse. Alexander was making a legal pl…
